ABOUT ME

Graduated in Graphic Design, Illustration and Visual Communication, with more than ten years of experience in the area. My creations have been published in various products and advertising campaigns, both nationally and internationally, obtaining recognition at a global level.

I have entered the field of Visual Arts in a self-taught manner, a world that fascinates me more and more every day. In addition to dedicating myself to ceramics, drawing, collage, screen printing and photography, which I am so passionate about.

Since the beginning of 2019, I have focused exclusively on art, working independently at GAB’S VISUAL ARTIST, where I produce works, design, and develop unique and special pieces, without being subject to trends.

Currently, I live and work in the vibrant city of Barcelona, Spain, which, with its rich history and effervescent art scene, has offered me endless inspirations and opportunities to enrich my work. Here, I have found an environment conducive to connecting with other creatives, sharing ideas and collaborating on innovative projects.

MY WORK

It is characterized by a fusion of traditional and contemporary techniques, exploring the interaction of shapes, colors and textures. In them I capture the events that move and traverse my body and mind. Through painting, I channel these experiences, while the sensations begin to take shape. These have been incorporating different motifs, transforming into a sort of confessional manifesto, a space where everything can be narrated.

On each canvas I discover a way to visualize my intimate, and at the same time autobiographical, universe. Sensations that emerge from the solitude of our individuality and the connections that are established between our worlds. Thus, open to all possibilities and beyond the iconography that may arise, I present my works as loving objects.

In my search to explore new forms of expression and stimuli to the limits of my creativity, my goal is to continue growing as an artist. Receptive to new experiences and learning that enriches both my personal and professional life. Excited for the future and for the infinite possibilities that this artistic path offers me.

ABSTRACT UNIVERSE

Her works capture a purely emotional vision. Each creation is a world that intertwines with the others, forming her vast inner universe.

What, at first glance, appear to be combinations of simple techniques, where lines of varying thicknesses dance on the canvas, this multifaceted artist makes her work flow, vibrate, and come alive the moment she places her brush on the frame. She leaves nothing to chance; each of her works contains carefully considered forms and colors, previously experimented with in her personal sketchbook.

This sketchbook is a treasure where she keeps the combinations, tests, and sketches that will later be transformed into her larger-scale works. Harmonious and, at times, chaotic compositions, always managing to create a pause in the viewer so that we can then contemplate the world she inhabited in that moment.

“My goal in each work is to create an atmosphere that feels familiar. Something magical that we recognize, but that is beyond our physical experience. (...)” - Gabriela Rodríguez, 2020.

Her abstraction houses forms that generate a figurative image in our minds; something that, as the artist mentions, feels familiar and that we unconsciously transform into a profoundly subjective “what.”

Those of us who have had the privilege of knowing GAB'S more intimately can attest that her artistic production is intertwined with her personal quest to escape to a better world. It is no coincidence that her work is now moving to Barcelona, a city that she, originally from Argentina, has long desired to live in.

After beginning her work in Argentina, Gabriela, now based in Barcelona, finds herself at a turning point. She seeks to close one chapter and open a new one. In this new chapter, she finds herself in a present she longs for, marked by summer nights on her balcony overlooking the Paraná River, and at the same time expectant that new worlds will continue to surprise her.
